The full review
Coco Noir is Chanel at its most seductive — the moody sibling of Coco Mademoiselle. It opens with a brightness of grapefruit, deepens through rose and geranium, then settles into a dark, warm base of patchouli, vanilla and sandalwood that lasts into the next morning.
This is an evening fragrance by design — it has weight and projection that would be too much for a matatu commute but is perfect for dinners, events and nights out. Two sprays, not four; it builds.
It's a serious investment per bottle, but EDP concentration means a small amount goes far — a 100ml bottle lasts a year of occasion wear. As always with Chanel, authorised retailers only: it's among the most faked fragrances sold.
